Turn cherished clothing and meaningful fabrics into a small keepsake quilt you’ll treasure for years to come.
In this 3-week guided course, students will bring their own memory fabrics — such as baby clothes, loved one’s garments, t-shirts, or other sentimental textiles — and transform them into a small lap-size or keepsake quilt. This course focuses on creating a manageable, meaningful piece that can be completed within the three sessions.
Throughout the course, you will learn:
• How to plan and design a quilt layout
• Preparing and stabilizing memory fabrics (including stretch materials)
• Cutting and organizing quilt blocks
• Piecing and sewing your quilt top
• Basic quilting and finishing techniques
Our instructor will guide you step-by-step through the process. If additional coordinating fabrics, backing, or batting are needed, we’ll help you select the right materials to beautifully complete your quilt.
This course is ideal for confident beginners and beyond. Basic sewing machine familiarity is recommended (our Sewing Machine Basics class is great prep!).
