🧵 Quilting Sewing Course (Small Keepsake Quilt)

In this 3-week guided course, students will bring their own memory fabrics — such as baby clothes, loved one’s garments, t-shirts, or other sentimental textiles — and/or fabric squares, and transform them into a small lap-size or keepsake quilt. This course focuses on creating a manageable, meaningful piece that can be completed within the three sessions.
Throughout the course, you will learn:
• How to plan and design a quilt layout
• Preparing and stabilizing memory fabrics (including stretch materials)
• Cutting and organizing quilt blocks
• Piecing and sewing your quilt top
• Basic quilting and finishing techniques
Our instructor will guide you step-by-step through the process.
Students will provide their own fabric. For memory quilts, you will need to bring your keepsakes and fabric by the first day. You can also purchase pre cut quilting squares and “quarters” to design your blanket or add to your memories- at Fabric Mart and Sew Special. Walmart also has a good selection.
This course is ideal for confident beginners and beyond. Basic sewing machine familiarity is recommended (our Sewing Machine Basics class is great prep!).
