Part-Time Administrative Assistant

The Sandy Seamstress is looking for a friendly, organized, and reliable person to help with daily administrative tasks at our sewing studio in Wailuku!

Responsibilities include:

Responding to emails, texts, and social media messages
Answering customer questions and assisting with scheduling
Sending reminders to students about upcoming classes
Notifying customers when alterations are ready for pickup
Following up on unclaimed alterations
Occasional visits to the studio for administrative tasks

Position Details:

5 hours per week (approximately 1 hour per day, Monday–Friday)
$20/hour
Primarily remote with occasional studio visits
Must be based on Maui

We're looking for someone who is dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable with technology. Customer service experience is a plus!

Seamstress / Alterations Specialist

We're looking for an experienced, detail-oriented seamstress to join our growing sewing studio in Wailuku!

Responsibilities include:

Performing clothing alterations, repairs, and adjustments
Conducting customer fittings and taking measurements
Working with a variety of garments and fabrics
Completing projects within scheduled deadlines
Maintaining quality workmanship and an organized workspace

Qualifications:

Experience with garment construction and alterations
Comfortable operating sewing machines and sergers
Strong attention to detail and time management
Friendly, professional, and dependable

Position Details:

Flexible, part-time schedule
Compensation based on completed alterations (70% seamstress / 30% studio)
Located in Wailuku, Maui

Sewing & Craft Instructor

Come Teach With Us!

The Sandy Seamstress is looking for creative, enthusiastic instructors to share their skills with our Maui community!

We're seeking individuals who enjoy teaching and have experience in sewing, crochet, quilting, embroidery, or other creative crafts.

Responsibilities include:

Teaching hands-on classes and workshops for adults and/or keiki
Planning engaging, beginner-friendly projects
Preparing class materials and supplies
Creating a welcoming and encouraging learning environment
Keeping the classroom organized and safe

Qualifications:

Experience in sewing or another creative craft
Friendly, patient, and comfortable teaching others
Strong communication and organizational skills
Previous teaching experience is a plus, but not required

Position Details:

Flexible, part-time opportunities
Classes held at our Wailuku studio
Opportunities to teach single workshops or multi-week courses
Compensation discussed based on class format and experience
